Announcements: Three SCCPSS Art Students to have Works Published

Three SCCPSS Art Students to have Works Published

Three SCCPSS students from the Visual Arts Department of Savannah Arts Academy have been selected among 116 artists from around the world who will have their works published in the book Strokes of Genius 10: Inspiring Subjects. It is an honor to have their artwork selected among the best drawings in the adult category, which is usually submitted and won by well-known professional artists from around the world!

Congratulations to senior Cade Cunningham for his work titled Make a Wish,

senior Audrey Phillips for her work titled Electric Blue,

and junior Davis Smith for his work titled Counting My Blessings!

This isn’t the first time these artists have had their work recognized.  Davis Smith’s scratchboard drawing, Counting My Blessings, was also among 60 artworks accepted into the first national adjudicated National Art Honor Society/National Junior Art Honor Society Art Exhibition from 768 submissions across the nation.  In a separate contest, Davis won First Place in the 10th-12th Grade Nasco “Sketchables” Postcard Contest.  Cade Cunningham won a Gold medal in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards for “Make a Wish” a colored pencil drawing.  It was selected from among the top 100+ works from the national exhibition in NYC to be selected for the U.S. Department of Education’s Student Art Exhibition Program.  It will be on display for approximately one year.
