Title

Savannah Arts Academy and STEM Academy Students Named Winners in Student Super Shorts Film Competition

Body

Congratulations to students from the Savannah Arts Academy and the STEM Academy at Bartlett for their wins in the high school and middle school level categories of the Student Super Shorts Film Competition at SCAD’s Savannah Film Festival!

The short film “Case #91103” directed by Savannah Arts Academy’s Malik Wood won the high school division.

“Stereo-A-Typical,” by STEM Academy at Bartlett’s Ian Breen won the middle school division. The student’s films were shown at the Trustees Theater on November 1st during the Festival and the winners were presented with $500 cash awards for their wins in the competition which is co-sponsored by Savannah Mitsubishi and SCAD.

Students were given the prompt: “That’s Why I Know It’s True” and encouraged to explore the theme in creative ways, across disciplines and in under two minutes. Judges were looking for compelling expressions of thought and complete stories. Many SCCPSS students were able to take advantage of having access to the new ESE Broadcast Grant Equipment in their schools to produce their films for this competition.
