Title I Parent Engagement

The Title I Parent Engagement Program believes that parents, schools, families, and communities working together can create meaningful partnerships that ultimately lead to significant gains across the board in student achievement; therefore, the goal of the Parent Engagement Program is to increase student achievement by engaging and empowering parents to become actively involved in their children’s education across all grade levels.

In 2004, the United States Department of Education issued Parental Involvement: Title I, Part A Non-Regulatory Guidance to assist states, districts, and schools in administering the parental involvement provisions of Title I, Part A of the Elementary Secondary Education Act. Each Title 1 school in the Savannah Chatham Public School System has an active Parent Engagement Program.
