Pulaski Elementary School Ribbon Cutting

The new Pulaski Elementary opened its doors for the first time on August 22nd, 2011.  Students, parents, faculty and staff were all welcomed to a brand new state of the art facility, located in an area convenient to the military and civilian students this school serves.  In a moving ceremony the project completion was made final with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Monday, August 8, 2011.  In a show of community support and a strong example of this school's connection to the Hunter Army Airfield, attendees witnessed a ceremony filled with patriotism and honor, as the Third Infantry Division Color Guard, the Third Infantry Division Band, and the Commanding General of the Third Infantry Division, Major General Robert B. Abrams, were all on hand to contribute to the event.

This ESPLOST funded project provides more than 89,762 square feet of space for students and faculty. The multi-million dollar facility houses 38 Pre-K through fifth grade classrooms, music and art classrooms, and computer and technology labs. An 8,000 sq. ft. Physical Education facility, a cafeteria with a full stage that serves as additional space for after school activities, 7,700 sq. ft. Media Center and secure site access for Hunter Army Airfield students and parents are included.

The facility belongs to SCCPSS but is located on land leased to SCCPSS by Hunter Army Airfield.  The location provides for convenient civilian and military access.
