To be chosen as 2017-2018 Teacher of the Year for Garden City Elementary School is an honor and a privilege. Teaching is my life. It is not just a job where I begin work in August and finish in May. I think and plan about teaching all the time.
I have been an educator for 25 years. I hold a Master’s of Education Degree with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University and a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Armstrong State College.
If I am not teaching, I am usually spending time with my wonderful husband. We enjoy salt water fishing, traveling and eating out. I have two children and a dog named Cosmo - the loves of my life.
I believe that a child’s background and abilities should never limit the opportunities they have in education, so I meet them where they are. I use respect, praise and humor so that all my students see themselves as successful learners.
Thank you GCES for allowing me to represent you as Teacher of the Year!
