History teacher Russell Long has been teaching at Sol C. Johnson High School for the past 12 years.  He began his career with a Bachelor of Arts in History from Brewton-Parker College, and went on to complete a Master of Arts in History from East Tennessee State University, as well as an Education Specialist degree in Teaching and Learning from Georgia Southern University. Currently he is working on an Education Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Liberty University.

Mr. Long and his family live on Wilmington Island, where they also serve in their local church, First Baptist Church of the Islands.  Mr. Long enjoys teaching at Johnson High School where he has the opportunity to work with his favorite Savannahians every day-his students.
