Established in 1997, Marshpoint Elementary is proud of the accomplishments of our students and staff. We continue to be a leading elementary school in the county in test scores and student achievement through the team efforts of staff, students and most importantly, our parents. All test scores are well above the national average. High expectations, a warm, nurturing staff and wonderful children promote a learning environment that is exceptional and motivates our students to reach for the stars!
Marshpoint was named a 2006 and a 2007 Georgia School of Excellence.
Marshpoint received the 2007 and 2011 Bronze Award from the Governor's Office of Student Achievement for the highest percentage of students meeting and exceeding standards.
Marshpoint was chosen as a 2006 Silver Award Winner by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement for 'highest performance in meeting and exceeding academic standards'.
Marshpoint was named a "Magnet School of Distinction" in both 2007 and 2008 by the Magnet Schools of America.
Marshpoint was the recipient of the Magnet Schools of Excellence Award for 2005 presented by The Magnet Schools of America.
Marshpoint was recognized as a 2005 Gold Award Winner by the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement in collaboration with the Governor’s Office and the Georgia Department of Education. This award is given for 'Highest Percentage of Students' meeting and exceeding academic standards.
Marshpoint is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme School.
The PYPIB provides an international curriculum which is relevant, challenging and engaging. It is a philosophy and a way of teaching developed by the International Baccalaureate Organization.
Teachers design powerful learning strategies to set and foster high academic standards for ALL students.
Marshpoint has a state of the art Technology Lab where students receive weekly technology instruction from a certified teacher.
Technology is a key component of our curriculum and teacher instruction.
We have eight National Board Certified Teachers on staff.
We have earned sixty-five International Media Festival Awards including several Judges' Favorites and Best of Festival winners.
All students receive weekly instruction in Spanish from a certified teacher.
Each grade level adopts a community outreach project for the year. This yearly activity earned Marshpoint a State Learn and Serve Grant to expand our volunteerism.
Marshpoint was designated as a Department of Georgia Education visitation and demonstration site for the state for our Accelerated Schools implementation before becoming an IBPYP school.
Marshpoint earned the Georgia Pay for Performance Award for 2000, 2002 and 2003.
Marshpoint has received six International Paper Grants, three Savannah Excellence Fund Grants, a PRISM grant, a Federal Learn and Serve grant, a Best Buy grant, an Applebee's grant, two Poloroid grants, and two SECME grants to enhance instruction in science, math and reading. Marshpoint has also had numerous projects funded through the website Donors Choose.
