I am currently the media specialist at Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, Ga.  I was a stay at home mom when I received the call to apply for a media clerk position at Hubert Middle School 8 years ago.  My mom was a media specialist at Derenne Middle School and I never thought that I would enjoy working in a media center, despite the fact that my mom loved her job.  I had no idea that a media center job would be so fulfilling, rewarding and so much fun!  I worked for an amazing media specialist at Hubert MS, and it was there that I decided that I wanted so much more, professionally, than a media clerk position.

An opportunity to become a library media support specialist was presented to me 2 years after working at Hubert MS.  That position took me from a middle school to splitting time between 2 high schools - Jenkins HS and Windsor Forest HS, later splitting between Windsor Forest HS and New Hampstead HS.  Once in that position, I realized that I would not be happy until I became a media specialist, which required me to go back to school to work towards my master’s degree.

Along the way, I have worked with amazing media specialists, who believe in me enough to teach me as much as they can.  The faculty at New Hampstead HS believed in my abilities and voted me as the Instructional Support Person of the year for SY 2017-18. While I didn’t get an opportunity to serve in the position for very long, because I was hired as the full time media specialist at Windsor Forest HS, I was honored that the faculty supported me and felt that I was a strong leader in their school.  Thank you again, New Hampstead, for a wonderful 2 years!!!!
