Karen Alston

Karen Alston

Mrs. Karen Alston is a Veteran, of 31 years, with the U.S. Army and a recent graduate of Liberty University School of Helms with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.  With every career change, there comes many challenges requiring the ability to adapt to different cultures and personalities, however, as the Title I Parent Involvement Facilitator, at White Bluff, this test came with much determination and loyalty for her school family.

Her most inspirational quote comes from Albert Einstein who stated, “Once you stop learning, you start dying.”  This quote has carried her from one accomplishment to another.  “As a community leader, what we say and do can be either detrimental or beneficial in the lives of others.”  She encourages parents and students to continue their education as this will allow them to grow in their quest to never cause harm to others, always seek new knowledge, and remain flexible with the changing demands in the field of education.

Throughout her career, she has received numerous early childhood education certifications, awards and diplomas.  Her next SMART goal, is to successfully complete her Masters of Art in Human Services Counseling with a Cognate in Family Advocacy. Outside of school, she enjoys participating and spear heading community events to raise funds and awareness that deal with diseases and stigmas that may bring life altering effects on the individual and family members.
