In Letha Moore’s family, teachers were always held in high esteem. Her 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Woods, was the first to make her dream of teaching by making her feel special at school – calling on her in class to do what she thought she could not do. Now, teaching is not only Ms. Moore’s occupation, but her vocation. She believes having a nurturing spirit toward children is just as fundamental as academic proficiency.
2017-2018 marks Ms. Moore’s seventh year at White Bluff Elementary in the Kindergarten classroom. She previously worked at Pulaski Elementary and Gould Elementary as a Preschool Intervention (PSI) and PreK Teacher.
An honor graduate of Armstrong University and Cambridge College, Ms. Moore currently serves on the School Council, SIT/DATA TEAM and an advisor for the school-based FCTB (From Caterpillars to Butterflies). In addition to being selected as one of the five finalists for Teacher of the Year for Savannah Chatham County Public School Ms. Moore was honored as a WTOC 11 Top Teacher in 2017.
Ms. Moore is an active member at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church where she serves as Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School, on the Mission Ministry and Praise & Worship Ministry. She enjoys vacationing at beach destinations, watching movies and dining out.
