NINTH GRADE 1ST TIME
 
 What is so different about High School?
  • Student earns Carnegie units toward high school diploma.
  • Minimum of 24 credits to graduate. (See chart below).
  • Minimum grade to earn credit is a 70 at the end of the semester.
  • Effective 08-09: One General Diploma awarded to students.
  • Diploma track: CTAE (Career Tech) Pathway or College Pathway.
  • Courses usually caught on a 4 x 4 block schedule. (Aug-Jan & Jan-June)
  • Community Service = 20 hours prior to senior year.
  • Schools have Career Academies /Themes (Ninth Grade Academy, Within each Academy, students take specific courses in a specified pathway.
  • More freedom = more responsibility.
  • Excessive absences (more than 4) = 69 for final grade
